Audiobook Experience
As I enjoy walking or riding my bike on the these great summer days, I am also getting many books "read" that I wouldn't have had time to fit into my schedule. I was a person who didn't like to be read to. I read fast and felt people reading to me was to slow. Thanks to my fellow Librarian and friend Deb who kept on me, convincing me to give audiobooks a fair shake and giving me recommendations that she knew would hook me.. I am now a solid audiobook junkie. I love to multitask and audiobooks allow me to do many things while listening to (hopefully) a great reader reading to me a book I wanted to read, but didn't have time to totally block everything out to read a traditional print copy. I get asked the question...do you really pay attention to the book if you are sewing or cleaning while you listen? Yes, I know exactly what is happening and it seems to make the task take less time, similar to the way music also does for me. While you are driving down Interstate 80 going to somewhere exciting, give an audiobook a chance. An easy way to use your Mp3 player in your car is a gadget that allows you to use your car speakers, through the radio, using an unused radio station. If you need some information stop by the Library and we can help you out!
