Upcoming Things to Do----Besides reading:) at the library!

Submitted by jmcmahon on Thu, 09/23/2010 - 12:25

The Library will at the Children's Festival on the 25th promoting and have a good time with the Percy Jackson series. In October a Halloween Party for the Prk-3rd and in November a Diary of a Wimpy Kid Party!..

For those who want some great reads for the fall, give some of the new World War II fiction a try. One I particularly enjoyed was The Violin of Auschwitz. It is a beautiful short story of music and survival during a time of brutality.

Lately I have been learning a lot about bonobo apes in my fiction reading. Both Lucy (one of the books I discussed in the previous blogs) and the new Sarah Gruen book, Ape House not only give you great reads, but a chance to learn about these endangered apes. Did you know how closely related our DNA really is??
