Sign Up Online

Library cards are a thing of the past here at the West Liberty Public Library. Instead, we create a library patron account, which makes you a member of the library. Being a member allows you to check out books and movies, as well as access all of our online resources. Woohoo!

In order to become a patron, you must be a resident of West Liberty, Atalissa, Nichols, or the portion rural Muscatine County located within the West Liberty Community School District. While applicants can sign up online, they must provide either a current government-issued photo I.D. or a valid school identification card along with proof of address (city bill, etc.) at the library before the account is activated.

Applicants 14 years and younger require a parent's or legal guardian's signature on the application form.

FYI, all applicants will have their photo taken their first time at the library for its records. All information acquired by the library is confidential and will not be released without a court order.

Why should I become a patron?

Glad you asked, becoming a patron of the West Liberty Public Library opens you up to a variety of free resources. To begin, patrons can check out our books, movies, Blu-Rays, audiobooks, and video games.

As a patron, you'll be issued a patron number that gives you access to all of our online resources including Bridges, a database that allows you to check out even more books and movies on your portable device. Also, you'll have access to library programming and our building just in case you need Wifi or a cool place to sit during the summer.

As the official library of West Liberty, Atalissa and Nichols, we're always working hard to build our collection of books and movies, while giving patrons access to technology, printing, and faxing. Our job is to help you get informed and stay informed. That all begins by becoming a patron.
