Microfilm.jpgTake a Peek into the Past

The West Liberty Public Library currently has a microfilm machine, along with newspaper film dating back to 1878 from the local area. We welcome members of the community to use our equipment for research purposes. All we ask is that you respect our machine and microfilm, as well as let us know you want to use the equipment by calling ahead or finding us at the circulation desk.

You'll need a staff member to get the microfilm, so we need you to know what years you want to research. We are willing to provide training on the machine, which is capable of taking pictures of old newspapers that can be stored on an external drive or printed right here in the library. It's really quite fun once you get the hang of it. For any questions call us at 319-627-2084.
